ASWB

ASWB Mission

Strengthen protection of the public by providing support and services to the social work regulatory community to advance safe, competent, and ethical practices.

ASWB’s Strategic Initiatives

In year four of ASWB’s five-year strategic plan, great progress was made on all four strategic initiatives. Responding to the strategic objective of bridging the boundaries of social work regulation, members adopted a Mobility strategy to guide implementation in 2018. As use of member services expanded, so did ASWB’s IT department to maintain and enhance the technology infrastructure. This report reflects the work done by staff and volunteers guided by the 2014-2018 Strategic Plan.

Like the Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee is elected by ASWB membership. The committee slates the candidates to run for office on the next year’s Board of Directors and Nominating Committee. Bylaws amendments adopted at the 2015 annual meeting increased the committee from three members to five, beginning with 2016 elections for service in 2017. The bylaws also provide for an appointment from the Board of Directors at the president’s discretion.
