Continuing competence

The Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program reviews and approves providers and courses for social work continuing education. ACE approval demonstrates to social workers and regulatory boards that continuing education meets rigorous standards for quality and relevance.

ACE highlights:

  • Exhibited at the Alliance for Continuing Education in Health Professions Conference, at National Harbor, Maryland. The goal was to share with CE providers who are offering CE to health care professionals that they can offer CE to social workers through ACE.
  • Debuted a new exhibit and coordinating literature in March at the 2019 Psychotherapy Networker Symposium in Washington, D.C. ACE staff members were on hand to encourage licensed social workers to find CE through the ACE program.
  • Added individual course and conference approval to its offerings in all jurisdictions. Previously only available in New Jersey, this approval type has helped many smaller providers of social work continuing education offer ACE credit.
